I can tell that you've put a great deal of work into researching and assembling your video. Your transitions between your still images and video clips were aligned well with you dialogue. The segments of video that you shot yourself was great. I would have really liked to see more of that. For example, in place of the opening still images of traditional and modern classrooms, you could have shot a video of actual students in actual classrooms, highlighting the diverse interactions and activities in each. Still I found you video really informative...thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI had planned on including video from my classroom of the students using their computers, but I was actually in a point where I was not having them use their computers as much, it was much more hands on activities. We were using the technology to record data, but they were actually out in the hallways running physics experiments, nothing like having permission to shoot rubber bands at school.
DeleteThanks for watching and commenting.
This is excellent. I love the pictures you chose to depict the old 19th century classroom. I especially liked the graphic of the 21st century classroom. That graphic really tells the story. You did a great job on capturing the young set using tablets. I am an avid supporter of learning technology early so this section really stood out for me.. Finally, I liked the portion of your video where a student was asked a question about a digital text book. It was a great idea to include a students comment. Good job!
ReplyDeleteThanks Beverley.
DeleteKelly,
ReplyDeletenice video. Earlier students depended on text books and teacher was the ultimate source of resource. now the role of the teacher has changed with the advancement of technology. i wonder what will come next in the fourth wave.will tis technology be obsolete in the near future?
Shameen,
DeleteThat is an interesting thought about what is next. I am amazed at how much technology has changed in my middle school classroom in the last 8 years since I started to teach. I loved my overhead projector but now I love my interactive white board. Things are changing so much.
Kelly, Great introduction. Good use of graphics and video to support your topic. I enjoyed the discussion about digital vs traditional text books. Narration: I have found that using shorter recordings reduces the amount of broken sentences when reading a script. Thank your for sharing. Enjoyed the video. Jerry
ReplyDeleteI know, my daughter said the same thing. It was to the point where my computer had eaten my first video, so it was just trying to redo the video and get it turned in on time.
ReplyDeleteI really liked how you interviewed a student. That made your video valid, in my opinion. Good video shots and transitions! I really enjoyed it!
